Here I have begun to list the hardware and software that I use to produce the things that I do. The reason I am listing this info is to give you an idea of where you might want to start. Also, people ask me all during my computer class what I have and that can be distracting. This can get scary!
Hardware
Pentium III 500
262 Megs of SDRAM
Voodoo 3500 Video card. Allows for TV and other video input via a special pod.
SoundBlaster Live: This is an excellent sound card that allows me to play and record high quality music
Plustek Scanner: This is a nice portable desktop scanner that has its own cache and the ability to do negatives and transparencies.
Software
Paintshop Pro: This is a picture editing program that I could not imagine being without. This allows me to quickly edit photos and animations so that I can share them with others both on the net and high quality cd or print.
Cute Ftp: Transferring files from my computer to the internet servers.
Microsoft FrontPage: Webpage editing
MGI Videowave III: For editing video files to be put on CD videotape or internet.
Adobe PageMaker 6.5+: Desktop Publishing
Adobe Acrobat 5.0: Creating online PDF files
Chat Programs:
ICQ: Very popular free program that allows for file transfers
Paltalk: Free voice program.
Microsoft Netmeeting: Video conferencing
Editors
Stripmail : gets rid of all the extra junk from forwarded emails in a hurry. (free)
Other
Sony Mavica FD-91: I use this digital camera for all sorts of things. Making websites and photo CD's are the two main tasks.
